On September 8, Royal Decree-Law 16/2022, of September 6, was published to improve working conditions and Social Security for domestic workers. With this new norm, from now on they are included in the Prevention Law since art. 3 of the Law, which excluded them from its scope of application.

First article: Modification of Law 31/1995, of November 8, on the prevention of occupational risks.

Law 3171995 of November 8, on the Prevention of Occupational Risks, is modified as follows:

One. Section 4 of article 3 is deleted.

Two. An eighteenth additional provision is added, which will have the following wording:

“Eighteenth additional provision. Protection of the safety and health at work of workers in the field of the employment relationship of a special nature of the family home service”

 

Likewise, a maximum period of 6 months is given for the Government to approve the particular mandatory regulations, so the details to be fulfilled are not yet clear, although the philosophy of the Law must be complied with, in terms of guaranteeing the safety and health of the workers, with all the complexity that this entails (how the handling of portable ladders, cleaning products, knives, etc. will be controlled).
